Howl's Moving Castle (Japanese: Hepburn: Hauru no Ugoku Shiro) is a 2004 Japanese energized dream movie composed and coordinated by Hayao Miyazaki. The film is approximately founded on the 1986 novel of a similar name by British creator Diana Wynne Jones. The film was created by Toshio Suzuki, enlivened by Studio Ghibli and conveyed by Toho. The Japanese voice cast included Chieko Baisho and Takuya Kimura, while English name form featured Jean Simmons, Emily Mortimer, Lauren Bacall, Christian Bale and Billy Crystal.

The story is set in an anecdotal realm where both enchantment and mid twentieth century innovation are predominant, against the background of a war with another realm. The film recounts to the narrative of a youthful, content milliner named Sophie who is transformed into an elderly person by a witch who enters her shop and reviles her. She experiences a wizard named Howl and becomes involved with his protection from battling for the lord.

Affected by Miyazaki's restriction to the United States' intrusion of Iraq in 2003, the film contains solid enemy of war topics. Miyazaki expressed that he "had a lot of fierceness about [the Iraq war]," which drove him to make a film which he felt would be inadequately gotten in the US. It likewise investigates the topic of mature age, delineating age emphatically as something which gives the hero opportunity. The film contains women's activist components also, and conveys messages about the estimation of empathy.

In 2013, Miyazaki said the film was his preferred creation, clarifying "I needed to pass on the message that life merits living, and I don't believe that is changed." The film is specifically altogether not the same as the book; while the book centers around testing class and sexual orientation standards, the film centers around adoration, and individual reliability and the ruinous impacts of war.

Cry's Moving Castle had its reality debut at the Venice Film Festival on 5 September 2004, and was dramatically discharged in Japan on 20 November 2004. It proceeded to net $190 million in Japan and $236 million around the world, making it one of the most monetarily effective Japanese movies ever. The film got basic approval, especially for its visuals and Miyazaki's introduction of the subjects. It was named for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 78th Academy Awards, yet lost to Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, in 2006, and won a few different honors, including four Tokyo Anime Awards and a Nebula Award for Best Script.
